An outdoor TV transforms your Broken Arrow outdoor kitchen from a great cooking space into a full outdoor entertainment venue — complete with game days, movie nights, and weekend sports that keep everyone outside instead of crowding around the indoor TV. VistaScapes & Design integrates outdoor TV setups into covered outdoor kitchen builds with the same thoughtful planning we apply to every other system in the space.
Why Outdoor TV Planning Belongs in the Design Phase
Mounting an outdoor TV as an afterthought — drilling through finished stone veneer, running surface-mounted conduit, positioning the TV at whatever angle happens to be convenient — produces results that look improvised. Planning the TV location during design allows us to:
- Mount the TV at the optimal viewing angle from both the dining table and the outdoor seating area simultaneously
- Run conduit through the wall structure before stone veneer is applied — no surface-mounted conduit, no visible wire runs
- Install an appropriately sized blocking panel in the wall for TV bracket mounting
- Provide the correct electrical outlet position (behind the TV, not below it)
- Plan cable routing from the indoor cable/satellite source cleanly through the structure
Outdoor TV Recommendations for Broken Arrow’s Climate
Not all TVs can survive Oklahoma’s outdoor climate — and a standard indoor TV mounted outdoors will fail within a season or two from humidity, UV exposure, temperature swings, and potential moisture. We specify:
- SunBrite TV — The outdoor TV standard for covered outdoor applications. All-weather rated, high-brightness displays for outdoor viewing conditions. Available in full-sun and partial-shade specifications.
- Seura — Premium outdoor TVs with excellent picture quality and durability in covered outdoor environments.
- Samsung The Terrace — Samsung’s outdoor-rated QLED TV with excellent picture quality; appropriate for covered outdoor applications in Broken Arrow’s climate.
We do not recommend standard consumer TVs in outdoor applications, even under covered structures in Oklahoma’s climate. The investment in an outdoor-rated display is always worth it.
Viewing Angle Optimization
The most common outdoor TV mistake: mounting it where it fits rather than where it’s best viewed from. In a kitchen-dining-seating configuration, the TV should ideally be viewable from both the dining table and the seating area without neck strain. We model viewing angles during the design phase and specify the exact mounting height and tilt to optimize the experience from every seating position in the space.
VistaScapes & Design serves outdoor kitchen projects throughout Broken Arrow, Tulsa, Bixby, Jenks, Owasso, and all of northeastern Oklahoma.
