Paver patios are one of the most popular outdoor living investments for Wagoner homeowners — and for good reason. Pavers offer design flexibility, long-term durability, and easy repair if a single piece is damaged or stained. VistaScapes Design & Build installs concrete and natural stone paver patios in Wagoner and surrounding Wagoner County communities, building on properly compacted aggregate bases that prevent shifting and settling for years to come.
Why Paver Patios Outperform Poured Concrete
Poured concrete patios are solid — until they crack. And in Oklahoma, with our freeze-thaw cycles and shifting clay soils, cracking is inevitable. Once poured concrete cracks significantly, your options are either grind the surface (which wears away the finish), overlay it (which adds height and can create tripping hazards), or break it out and start over.
Paver patios flex slightly with soil movement, reducing crack propagation. If a paver does crack or stain, you remove and replace that single piece — not the entire patio. This repairability makes pavers a smarter long-term investment for Oklahoma properties.
Paver Options We Install in Wagoner
- Concrete Pavers: The most economical and widely available option — concrete pavers come in dozens of colors, shapes, and textures. We install Belgard, Unilock, and other quality brands in herringbone, running bond, and basket weave patterns.
- Travertine Pavers: Natural travertine is the premium pool deck and patio material — naturally cool underfoot, slip-resistant surface, beautiful warm tones. Travertine pavers are cut from genuine stone quarried in Turkey and Europe.
- Bluestone Pavers: Dense gray-blue flagstone cut into uniform pieces — a classic upscale patio material with consistent thickness for easy installation and a refined appearance.
- Tumbled Pavers: Factory-tumbled concrete pavers with rounded edges and a worn, aged appearance — delivers the look of antique cobblestone at a much lower cost.
The VistaScapes Installation Process
We excavate to the correct depth for the paver thickness plus a 4-6 inch aggregate base plus 1 inch of sand setting bed. The aggregate base is compacted in lifts with a plate compactor. Edge restraints are installed before pavers to lock the perimeter. Pavers are laid in the chosen pattern and sanded into the joints. The finished surface is compacted again to lock everything in place.
