Stamped Concrete Patio Installation in Tulsa, OK

Stamped concrete lets you get the look of expensive natural stone, classic brick, or exotic slate at a fraction of the material cost — with the structural durability and low maintenance that poured concrete provides. At VistaScapes & Design, our owner is an expert concrete craftsman who has been installing stamped concrete patios across Tulsa for years. We don’t subcontract our concrete — we pour it, finish it, and stamp it ourselves.

The difference between stamped concrete that looks beautiful for 20 years and stamped concrete that cracks, spalls, or fades in five years comes down to the installation process — the base preparation, concrete mix, stamping timing, and sealing. We do all of it correctly.

Stamped Concrete Patterns We Install in Tulsa

Ashlar Slate

One of our most popular stamped concrete patterns in Tulsa — a random, irregular pattern that mimics natural slate with clean cut lines and subtle surface texture. Available in gray, charcoal, sandstone, and multi-tone color combinations. Works beautifully for large patios, pool decks, and driveway aprons.

Cobblestone and European Fan

The cobblestone pattern gives a classic, European courtyard feel — rounded stone shapes set in a radial or running pattern. The European fan pattern creates a sweeping curved layout that’s stunning for circular patio areas, focal points, and high-end residential applications. Both patterns look particularly impressive when bordered with a contrasting soldier course.

Flagstone and Large Format Stone

Large-format irregular patterns that mimic natural flagstone — popular for the naturalistic, organic look that blends well with landscaping and natural stone features. We can create realistic joint lines, varied surface texture, and coloring that’s nearly indistinguishable from genuine flagstone at a significantly lower cost per square foot.

Brick Pattern (Running Bond and Herringbone)

Stamped brick patterns offer the traditional, warm look of clay brick in a seamless poured concrete surface. Running bond is the classic alternating brick layout; herringbone creates a 45-degree interlocking pattern that’s particularly popular for formal patio entrances and walkways in Tulsa’s established neighborhoods.

Wood Plank Pattern

Wood-look stamped concrete is increasingly popular for pool decks and covered patio areas where you want the warmth of wood aesthetics without the maintenance challenges of actual wood decking in Oklahoma’s climate. We install wood plank patterns with realistic grain texture and warm tan, brown, or gray coloring.

Color Options for Stamped Concrete

Color is what separates beautiful stamped concrete from generic gray slab. We offer:

  • Integral color: Pigment blended directly into the concrete mix — color goes all the way through, so chips and scratches don’t show bare gray
  • Color hardener: Dry-shake pigment applied to the surface while concrete is plastic — creates rich, deep color with subtle variation
  • Release agent: Applied before stamping, creates the realistic color variation between the stamp texture and the flat field that makes stamped concrete look like real stone
  • Acid stain accents: Applied after curing, acid stains create variegated, natural-looking color effects — particularly effective for a realistic stone look

Popular color combinations for Tulsa patios: charcoal/black release for a slate look, buff/tan with brown release for a sandstone look, and terra cotta/brown for a Southwest feel.

Our Stamped Concrete Installation Process

  1. Excavation and base: Excavate to proper depth, remove organics, compact 4-6 inches of crushed stone base
  2. Forms and grade: Set forms level and at proper drainage grade (1/8″ per foot minimum slope away from structures)
  3. Reinforcement: Wire mesh or rebar per design requirements
  4. Pour: 4,000 PSI mix poured and screeded to grade
  5. Color application: Integral color in mix, or color hardener applied and float-worked into surface
  6. Release agent: Antiquing release broadcast across surface before stamping
  7. Stamping: Stamps applied in sequence at the correct plastic stage — timing is critical and requires experience
  8. Control joints: Saw-cut joints placed within 24 hours to control cracking location
  9. Cure and seal: Proper curing time followed by penetrating sealer — essential for protecting Oklahoma concrete from freeze-thaw damage
